Broncos Lose in Overtime, Miss Playoffs

December 31st, 2006 · No Comments

Despite having a four game slide in the middle of the season, the Denver Broncos managed to play a good enough season and only needed a win or a tie against the San Francisco today to get a wild card spot in the NFL playoffs. Well, they almost got the tie. The Broncos offense failed to three score touchdowns after getting inside the 49ers 5-yard line and both Jay Cutler and Jake Plummer threw interceptions. The Broncos played erratically like they did most of the season but to lose tonight to the 49ers with less than two minutes left in overtime was just very painful to me. On the brighter side, I got the stress out of my system now and I can enjoy the rest of the playoffs watching football instead of stressing out over the Broncos. In any case, the Broncos continued their streak of never making the playoffs for more than three seasons in a row. By losing tonight, the hated Kansas City Chiefs make the playoffs. Not only did they need the Broncos to lose tonight, they also needed to beat Jacksonville and have New England beat Tennessee and Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati both lose today. Maybe I can root against them.
