Another Warm Night

February 13th, 2007 · No Comments

Well, it has been warm enough during the day for the sulcata and the leopard tortoises to be somewhat active. I turned the heat off in the tortoise shelter on Saturday and they wandered about, got a drink of water and the sulcata even took a few tentative bites at a dandelion. The nights have been pretty warm, resulting in another record high low for the day (from the National Weather Service):

… Record high minimum temperature broken in Las Vegas Sunday…

The low temperature at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas only cooled down to 54 degrees Sunday morning. This reading broke the previous record high minimum of 53 degrees set in 1962.
