Hot Pregnant Wife had a very rough night last night. A sinus infection and bad cough kept her from getting a decent sleep and I had to retreat to couch for me to sleep. She had been fighting this for about a week and yesterday she really started feeling congested. She worked a half day today, and took a nap this afternoon. She’s feeling better tonight, but has lost her voice. I worked a full day today and was amazed to get a card and generous gift card from my coworkers.

With our three-year old at Grandma’s tonight, it was eerily quiet in our house. We cleaned out the fridge of leftovers, synced our iPods, grabbed a few DVDs and books, copied some episodes of Heroes from the TiVo to the MacBook for Nancy, and generally puttered around the house. Our big triumph of the evening was finishing the movie Seven Samurai. We’ve been working on the 1954 Japanese classic movie since December (thank goodness for Netflix not charging late fees) and have been watching the 208 minute movie in fits and starts. It was a great movie and even greater to finish it. I think we’re going to focus on our Netflix rentals on TV shows where we can hopefully enjoy a half hour episode before falling asleep.

We’ll be leaving for the hospital in about an hour.
