Back in my college days, I took a great Human Anatomy and Physiology class. The professor, Fred Jackson (seen here on the CCSN web page wearing a purple pimp hat), was a fantastic teacher and a very funny guy. One of his stock phrases when describing a physiological response to increased exercise (increased heart rate and respiration, larger muscles, etc) was “If you completely lose your mind, and begin to exercise….”

Well, not only did I lose my mind, I lost it big time. About two months ago, I actually registered for the San Francisco Marathon. I began running in late November and have been actively working on a training program for this marathon since the beginning of April. Training is going fairly well and should be ready to run the Marathon on July 29, 2007.

I’ll be posting some blog posts on my training activities, my training plan, and the reactions of friends and family.
