Rob, Karin, and Aiden came over for some swimming this afternoon and Karin showed up already about halfway through the new Harry Potter book. They had ordered it from Amazon but last night Rob went out to the new Wal-Mart in Pahrump and waited about 45 minutes in line to get a copy. Their Amazon copy should come in today. They’ll donate one of the books to the Pahrump library.

This afternoon, I kept getting out of the pool and walking around to the porch at the front of the house to look for our copy. We ordered it Super Saver Shipping so I wasn’t certain it would come in today. Finally, I checked the mail and sure enough it was in the mailbox. It’s a cute box mailed from Fernley, Nevada (we usually get Amazon stuff very fast with their big shipping center only 7 hours away). The box had instructions: “Attention muggles - Do not deliver or open before July 21!”

Anyway, I’m not sure why I’m blogging and not reading. Part of me actually wants to hold off and savor this final Harry Potter book. I’ve greatly enjoyed the series since I read the first book in October 2003 and am a little sad knowing there almost certainly won’t be any more books in the series. However, I know it will be like The Lord of The Rings — something I will enjoy reading again and again.
