Before the article, I was surprised but happy that the surge had been effective. Now... not so much. Since I was not aware of the cease fire until I heard the article, my brain processed the information almost exactly the way it's quoted above. It would be nice if the timing of the cease fire and the timing of the surge would be a news centerpiece for a day or two. I'd really like more people to be aware that The Surge really didn't work as it is being publicized. -Rob NPR ran a story on al-Sadr’s cease fire a couple of weeks back.
