Great news from my January peripheral blood stem cell transplant! I got a call from the transplant coordinator and the 67 year old recipient of my stem cells is doing well. The transplant engrafted, or took, so her cancerous bone marrow that had been destroyed by chemotherapy or radiation has been successfully replaced by my cells. In a creepy, sci-fi way, she’s running around with with a clone of my immune system in her body. Cool! I hope and pray for her continued recovery.
