The 90s come to an end at Las Vegas…

The high temperature at McCarran International Airport only reached
86 degrees yesterday due to cloud cover that moved in ahead of an
advancing Pacific storm system. This ended a 113 day stretch of high
temperatures of 90 degrees or better at McCarran that started back
on June 12th of this year. This was the third longest period of
consecutive days with a maximum temperature of 90 degrees or better
on record in Las Vegas since official weather records started in
1937.

The greatest number of consecutive days with a high temperature of
90 degrees or better at Las Vegas are…

1. 118 days starting on may 7th 1940
2. 114 days starting on may 29th 1956
3. 113 days starting on June 12th 2008 ***
4. 109 days starting on may 26th 1994
