Apple Supports Gay Marriage Rights

October 24th, 2008 · 2 Comments

MacNN is reporting that Apple, in a rare political move, is against California’s Proposition 8. Proposition 8 is a measure to change the California Constitution to ban gay marriages. Apple has been voted as a gay friendly company.

My marriage to Hot Wife is not threatened in any way by gay marriage and the people of Syzdekistan strenuously support marriage for our gay and lesbian friends.

Sorry, a dissenting vote is in, and the results are not unanimous. Being a diverse people, Syzdekistan has room, I trust, for those who don’t applaud Apple’s support of gay marriage. Actually it takes minimal guts to join in the latest “fad.” I’m all for gays being treated equally in the work place and having legal rights equivalent to marriage between consenting couples of age, but marriage, by definition, can only be between a male and female human. Period. I can ride or attach a wagon behind a donkey, and as much as I want him to be a horse, he’s still a donkey. And I can call my donkey a horse, and name him Ed, but he’s still a donkey. He can’t change that and neither can I. Redefining marriage to whatever some want it to be seems very Orwellian. It’s, to quote Wikipedia, “propaganda, misinformation, [and] denial of [natural] truth. Guess I’ll stick with Dell (and take the I-Pod off my Christmas list). This is not at all surprising, but rather disappointing.
