
Picking up Boo in her aftercare program tonight, I snapped a photo of school’s second grade class polling results: McCain 38, Obama 24, and 3 undecided. It reminded me of my vote in 2nd grade (which amazingly was at the same school) in which I was the lone supporter for independent John Anderson.
Yes, Mrs. Zelnick had to make a special ballot for me with three candidates. Reagan won that poll and the 1980 election in a landslide. Still, Anderson got almost 6 million votes and 6.6% of the popular vote. And that was the last time I voted for an independent.
