Austin Texas Mexican Free-tailed bats

As many of you know, I just returned from a family reunion in Texas. We spent some time with some family friends in Austin and met some other friends there at the Mexican free-tailed bat emergence on the Congress street bridge. Our Ausin friends videotaped the amazing bat emergence:

    That’s simply amazing! I’ve only ever seen a bat or two here and there, never a group that big. Lovely to see basic biology at work. ;)

    The bats are the one thing I have missed doing every time I go visit Cartman. Next time, I am going to insist on doing it.
