I was pleasantly surprised President Obama is sending 30K troops; I only wish the decision had been made sooner. I do agree we need to commit the troops necessary to complete the task, however difficult. I am also concerned about setting an end date--the schedule should be event rather than date driven. I hope we're out of there soon, but defeating an irregular force frequently takes much longer than winning (or losing) at conventional warfare, because the enemy is so dispersed and difficult to engage.
